Chess History in my hometown.

I recently read that back in 1972, Mike Chase, Shelby Lyman and Edmar Mednis managed to convince PBS to air a television show. The show turned out to be the first ever televised world championship chess match. And it was Fischer - Spassky!

Right here in a small studio, Demo Boards were hung, moves and motives were being analyzed and phones rang off the hook. This was groundbreaking. And it happened right here in my hometown Albany, New York. I wish I knew at the time it was being broadcast here. Still, part of Chess History.
