Hello, I am a beginner at chess. The only chess knowledge I have is from the "Everything You Need to Know About Chess" video series from Chess.com. (Here is the first video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4s4Ajmba9o4). I was wondering what is the fastest way for me to improve. Thank you

You have to eventually start playing games of course, but in the meantime these free courses will get you a great foundation.

Don't be upset if you have to go over some of the lessons again and again.  Only natural if this is all new to you.  Enjoy and welcome to the Game!

Against 1.e4 play the najdorf and play the Kings indian defense. As white play 1.e4 Play the open Sicilian, nc3 vs the French, advance vs the caro ect. I recommend reading the book called ECO openings. Memorization is key to chess.

Basic tactics. Elementary checkmates.

I recommend Jose Capablanca, Chess Fundamentals.
