chess improvement

hi i have no one to play otb chess with here where i live. so i play and try to study online and go to tournaments when i can does anyone have any helpful ideas that will help my play become better thanks alot

Have you watched the videos on this site? If so, which ones did you find easier or difficult to follow? For instance, I like Melik Kachiyan's and Roman Dzindzichashvili's.

i am going over my internet games turn based the interesting ones . trying to disect my play, i hadnt really did that before. I used to do some tactics on chess tempo but i am doing more here now  thanks for your comment i am open to all suggestions. There is  no otb players in my home town so when i do play otb i travel to stlouis too play.IT is hard not having any one to play otb so all the studying i try too do is by myself which gets very boring and is hard

where do you live? i am from columbia missouri. I go up to stl alot to play in poker tourneys. I am just now getting into chess to give me something to do in the middle of the year when there's no poker tourneys in the midwest.
