In the movie Sherlock Holmes 2: A game of shadows, Holmes and Moriarty play a five minute game, and in the endgame they play blinfold.
Chess in Movies

There's not been much (any) mention of Blade Runner in the ‘appearance in a film’ (rather than films about chess) comments. I know its only a small appearance in the film but it is key to the development of the plot as it is Roy’s (Rutger Hauer) strategy to meet his maker and get some answers. Avoiding any spoilers it’s a very good film but don’t watch it for the chess.

This is a spanish movie from 1956.

Translation:
-Listen, Félix. My move: QR-KB3. Can you hear me? Carmen, put me on the line with Félix
-Yes, Ramón, I got it, QR-KB3. Let me think. My move: P-Q4
Then on 0:27:50
-My move: QxR
Then the guy withe the beard says: Why don't you play Q-KB7?
-That's perfect! Now I got him. Thank you very much. Listen, I take that back. I move Q-KB7. Checkmate!

Revolver Yes! Saw this movie at a friends when I was half in the bag and have been trying to remeber the name for what seems like for ever. Not one for the cronic rewatch catagory but ranks up there with the likes of Snatch or Way of the Gun. imo (If you haven't seen the later and you like violent humer, gratuitous violence and the chick for natural born killer's its a definate 2-thumbs up)
You know I can suspend my sense of disbelief when I see a Christmas angel come back to earth and give Jimmy Stewart a helping hand over the hard times he was facing. In fact I thought it was a great movie! But a woman standing in for her dead husband in a world championship game is a mountain to climb which I cant do.
Happens sometimes with elected offices, oddly enough.

Well, we are talking chess here and it has never happened in chess and never will happen in chess.
