Many people think that chess is a mind game but still many intelligent people getting excellent marks in exams fails to play good chess so I don't think intelligent only makes a chess player great technique matters

Being good at chess doesn't mean someone is intelligent, it just takes study.

Similarly, getting good marks doesn't mean someone is intelligent, it just takes study.

yeah that is what I'm saying it takes proper study not only being intelligent meant you play good

Yeah, I think being good at anything is like 90% study and hard work, 10% talent

It does seem obvious but you'd be surprised how many people give up on something just because they aren't good at it right away. Like they don't understand that the people who are good also sucked at one point earlier on.

chess is a game of luck    ,  90% luck   5%  killer instinct ,  5% God writes the destiny .

If the intelligence was important the asians  ( best IQ ) sh0uld be in the top 10 world ranking.

those who are naturally talented + study/work hard can have the potential to reach grandmaster. the rest of the people study the game and practice it for many years but never have possibility of reaching that level.

yeah if all will become grandmasters then no point to play this game anymore

1818-1828271
Im pretty sure anyone who studies properly for 8+ hours a day will reach grandmaster, regardless of talent. Talent might push you from 2500 to 2800 though. Most of us aren't grandmasters because we don't want to put in that amount of work, sacrificing many other things along the way. Much of what we consider "talent" is just a fascination and willingness to devote one's entire existence to a single activity.

This is why you should respect people who are masters at anything - it's not natural talent you should praise, it's the fact that they've sacrificed their whole lives to become masters.

Saying you can't become a grandmaster is a lazy excuse that is insulting to the people who put in the time. You're saying it was easier for them. Let me tell you it wasn't. Respect the work and time they've put in.

This applies to the 99 percentile.

However, there is no substitute for gifted natural talent. No amount of study or physical hard work can compete with the very few who are naturally gifted. Goes for sport as well as chess.

Chess is all work and no gain. Yet it is somehow fun XD
1818-1828271
Even talented people are only good because of the hard work they put in, which is my entire point. Reading comprehension is your friend.

note that: Chess is not a game of *mind* but, ITS A GAME OF ```BRAIN```
