Thanks. I'll give them try if the fools ever send me my credit card.
Chess magnet school
Thanks. I'll give them try if the fools ever send me my credit card.
This may be dead in the water, but you do not need a credit card to sign up for the free trial. You just need an email address. I am currently using the free 30 trial. It feels similar to Chess mentor but slightly more linear in how you advance.

So which is better for biggeners, or does it matter?
I use Chess Mentor and Chessimo, and I downloaded the 30 day Chess Magnet demo yesterday and am going though some of the intermediate exercises. I kind of like the program, and might sign up when my 30 day trial runs out. It seems to be very well designed.

Are you talking about chess magnet school? If so, isn't chess mentor, and the magnet school about the same thing?

No, they are not the same, each has it's own features in my opinion.

It says you must not use a pop up blocker. I have Trend Micro (virus/spyware security) and it stops all those pop ups.
So I don't know if I could register for the demo month or not. What do you think?

You should have a switch on your browser to disable the pop-up blocker temporarily.
I went through all of the beginning and intermediate problems and sampled some of the advanced sections-all within my 30 day free trial.
You must be a really fast learner, cause I have been working with this program for a few weeks, and have done over 700 exercises and am not out of the intermediate section yet....

Is it any good?

When I played for my High School, there was a school that offered chess as an elective. They had enough players to field two teams, and most of their players were hundreds of rating points above everyone else. They all had a fondness for the Colle system.
