Obsessing about your rating goal probably distracts you from finding objectively good moves on the board.
Learn the way of the farmer to increase your rating. Many of the great grandmasters started their chess careers toiling in the field and honing their chess skills in the barn with chickens
I find chess to be insulting.
After many years of practice and reading of chess, why can't I have a rating of 2000+? It's not fair.

First, let me say that you are in no way inadequate. Chess isn't a measure of anyone's "adequacy," even in terms of their intellectual abilities. Also, you are a wonderful, beautiful person and I'm glad that you're in this world with me.
Second, your rating isn't that bad! A lot of people won't even get to as high as you are, so congrats on that! Also, are there any areas in your game that you think might be lagging behind the others? I was plateauing in the 1600s before I admitted to myself that I just suck at tactics, and I just started grinding out tactical puzzles and my rating started going up again.
Third, not that I know any more than you, but I'm always up for a game! Maybe we can learn from each other.
Cheers.
