Chess match data

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of some data from chess matches. I'm not interested in individual moves, just the ratings of the players and the outcome of the match. I don't neceessarily need the identity of the players; if that's available, that would be great. But what I really need to know is wheter the player's FIDE rating has ever been above 2400 (correct me if I'm wrong, but that's where the K-factor used to adjust ratings changes from 15 to 10).

If you know where I might look to find this data, please let me know. Thanks in advance for any and all tips and pointers.

I can't help out here but I'm still curious - what on earth do you want or need this data for?

Hi NimzoRoy, thanks for the reply. I'm interested in studying the Elo rating system and some of its properties. This feature of the FIDE ratings where the rating update rule adjusts based on the player's historical best rating being below/above a threshold seemed very interesting to me.

Can anyone else out there point me in a direction? Where does one fine FIDE match outcome data? I'm very new to this stuff.

 Thanks very much in advance.

Estragon,

Thanks for the reply. I have seen that competition. The datasets are still available and I have downloaded them. Unfortunately, it seems as though all of the players in that study are rated above 2400. Any idea on how they compiled their data? I'll try to get in touch with someone associated with that study in order to find out, but any additional information anyone might have would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

 Dan
