I got a book called interregnum for my birthday I noticed it said Magnus Carlsen was going for 2800, only gaining a couple points per game because of a huge rating gap. He was on a 53 win streak, 20 points away from goal, and lost 16 points in a game.

Ok, what’s the big deal shru??? Well, that game he lost 16 points and doomed his plan for 2800 and lost his 53 gave him streak was against Hans.

And yes, it was the beads game that sparked the controversy that led to the Netflix documentary chess mates.

For those of you who don’t know it, after this game, Carlsen accused Hans of cheating after losing to him, saying Hans’s play style ‘wasn’t human’

do you think it was a coincidence that Carlsen happened to also have this much more at stake then his Elo, or do you think Hans really did cheat?

What is your opinion on the cheating scandal featured in chess mates on Netflix?

It was 2900, not 2800

But also I watched the documentary and I think even Magnus himself doesn't even think Hans cheated anymore

Magnus was blaming cc more than Hans

Imo Hans never cheated OTB and he deserves an apology

I think the community realized Magnus was wrong and stayed silent about it in fear, which sucks because it basically ruined a very strong player who contends for top gms and kind of ruined his life.

Wow I thought this would be way more popular.

I’ll let it die after this.
