I have an old copy of Chess Mentor that I paid a lot for.  I am about to upgrade to Windows 10 and I don't want to lose all these lessons.

Does anyone know if there is a way to run Chess Mentor on windows 10 using some sort of compatability mode?

You can, via "virtual machine", tell exact version of the program.

Thanks, what is virtual machine? That sounds like a software that needs to be installed.

Is there a simpler way?

First and sure way is to install with one click, "VMware", for example. Start it and you have "Windows XP" inside your win 10 already installed. Now, of course you could install any older software which requires older OS.

Are you sure running in compatibility mode won't work?

Youtube is full of tutorials how to do that almost without thinking in just few steps.

Compatibilty mode never worked it's just cosmetic. Maybe, if you have old version of win 10. I never knew anyone who knew anyone that compatibility mode worked for any software in any time...
