Oh not this old gimmick again!

I play like a real crappy version of Tal.

dareyou2win

Most of the time I play like a crappy version of me :)

Chicken_Monster

Take it with a big grain of salt, but it is interesting. There are other tests too. I did another one and they both told me I should play the Sicilian, which is the one opening I hoped to avoid. What's this about some Najdorf opening...

i got alekhine chess mastermind

There must be a more accurate and comprehensive evaluation test though. 20 questions isn't enough data.

LightYearz

I got the best!

Champions are great fighters who play for the attack but don't like to take undue risks. They are emotional players who use those emotions to increase the intensity of the game for themselves and for their opponents. Deep, profound calculations that get at the heart of the position are their forte. Champions are universal players, and they won't go wild looking for a win if its just not there. They are quite willing to play a quiet endgame if that is what the position demands.

Garry Kasparov is a Champion

Garry Kasparov (born 1963), thirteenth World Champion, typifies the chess style of a true Champion. A tireless worker, he brought opening preparation to a new level, often deeply analyzing openings far into the middlegame. Kasparov had unique understanding of dynamics and often showed that seemingly-surprising positional sacrifices were correct. From 1986 until his retirement in 2005 he was almost constantly the highest-rated player in the world, and he held the world championship title from 1985 until 2000 - so it is not surprising that his style was that of a Champion.

Kasparov. Not bad.

It tells you which openings you should use for Kasparov or whatever player you are like.

Is Carlsen an option I wonder? No one got Magnus? Anand?

Silvan

Alekhine

LightYearz

Fairly accurate too because in real life I ALWAYS PLAY IT SAFE, Unless it the risks I take are win/win (SAFE Risks. lol.)

Chicken_Monster

Alekhine is obviously good.

Fischer anyone? Karpov? Tal?

But is says Kasparov is calm and unemotional. You are SCREAMING IN CAPS!

Chicken_Monster

What is a grinder? Some girl I'm playing said that's what she is too.

I know what it means in poker, but not chess.

dareyou2win

Isn't it the same psychological concept across games?

Chicken_Monster

I don't know. What does "grinder" mean in the context of chess?

dareyou2win

I never looked it up or anything, but I always assumed "grinder" in the context of gaming referred to a person who likes to gain slowly and deliberately, without taking risk.

Assassin. Scary. I'm intimidated now.

In the context of poker, "grinder" typically refers to one who eeks out a meager living playing limit poker games...slowly and steadily making a little money on a consistent basis...as opposed to the more exiciting (and financially risky -- and perhaps rewarding) no-limit hold 'em poker. Not to say that high-stakes limit players can't make a lot. But is is a dull, slow, boring grind.

There seems to be a similarity, but the connotation of "grinder" in chess seems more positive...there are some negative connotations associated with grinder in poker -- it comes up in that great poker movie with Matt Damon and Ed Norton...
