Hi I've just started studying some chess books properly for the first time in my life. However one problem always persists. In which format do you follow the variations. It's so easy to get lost while constantly changing the pieces to follow a line. So do you use 2 boards or do you use a board and program or do you use just a program. I remember hearing GM Nigel Short say once that you should always use a board as much as possible. Is this still true? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated or you can just state your preference. It's all good. Thanks. : )
