I am the exact opposite of musical, and I am a little spacial and mathematical, although I am not great at it. You cannot listen to music at a tournament, but music can help people think and give them inspiration. It might also work as a psychological anchor to get them to be in their best condition to play.
Chess Skill

Okay, lets see
Spatial: Yes, pattern recognition is really useful as you can see common tactical themes (i.e. the smothered mate)
Logical-Mathematical: It helps as if you are good at calculating in math, chances are, you can calculate even at least a move ahead on the chess board.
Intrapersonal: Some people actually learn better by themselves.
Musical: Music can inspire, ease the soul, and calm the mind and it can relax you while playing chess (well listen to it not during but possibly before and after?)
Linguistic: Uhhhh... I guess it depends on the person if they WANT to watch videos or not.
Interpersonel: It's good to learn from other people, however, some people prefer to learn by themselves.
Bodily-kinestetic: Yea, it's pretty important that you can sit still. I don't expect someone with ADD to be able to sit for an hour while waiting for his/her opponent to move.
Those are my opinions on all the listed.
Ok, a lot of us know that although their is a correlation with IQ and chess skill, what i'd like the know which learning type of person would be able to grasp chess the quickest.
These are my thoughts:
1. Spatial - Pattern recognition can be a big help in chess.
2. Logical-Mathematical - Ability to reason through a game.
3. Intrapersonel - The apsect of soloness helps.
4. Musical - I think that listening to music while playing chess could give these people a good advantage.
5. Linguistic - Watching videos can help these people.
6. Interpersonel - The social environment of a good chess club.
7. Bodily-kinestetic - You got to sit still.
What are your thoughts?
