I've been trying find a piece of soffware for making chess videos, I heard on a video tutorial that you needed two types of software: screen recording software (which I have) and a chess software. unfortunatly I don't know what kind of software I need, the video had a link (in the description) but the link was outdated, I tried chessbase light 9 and it said it needed activating, I tried to activate it but the page couldn't be displayed I have now tried Fritz 5.32 but it's seems to be for playing. I don't know what the correct search (in search engine) should be to find what I need. I would preferable want free software.

You can always start your own website. When you compare it to other mon thly expenses, like cable, it is surprisingly low.

I think you may have misunderstood, regardless of whether I make a website or make videos I need software to make the board sequences, I looking at making videos to show a variety of things not just tutorials, my reference to them was a tutorlal of making a chess video.

I don't understand how making a website answers my question

Yea, yorygregovich is a little confused.  I understood your question perfectly.

If you already have the screen recording software, you just need a chess GUI.  (Graphical User Interface)  A GUI will allow you to make the moves on the board, for both sides.  I'm surprised if you don't have one already.

There are dozens of different chess GUIs, and many of these are free.  Yes, the GUIs will ALSO allow you to play a game, but that's basically what they are designed for.  But most will also allow you to enter a game too, or just make moves on the board, etc.  They will also load a game previously played, and allow you to step through it, one move at a time.

Fritz 5.32 is very old but I don't see why that software wouldn't work.  Other more recent and popular GUIs are Scid vs. PC, Arena, Winboard and Tarrasch.  All of these are free.  Commercial products include Shredder, and the Fritz/Chessbase products, among others.

Ideally, Google these, find the download link, download thr free ones, and play around with them for awhile to test them, to see which one you prefer.

If you see a chess video on Youtube and you like that GUI, send a note to the author of the video, asking him which GUI that is.
