Chess Would You Rather

Sort:
IgnorantSage

Would you rather:

Lose to a completed beginner or lose in 2 moves ( don't ask me how its possible )

IgnorantSage

Excellent Answer my good sir Well played.

Round 2

Would you rather:

Be the greatest player of all time but nobody knows who you are OR worst player to ever exist and be world famous for being bad.

poodle_noodle

If you're the best player and nobody knows you, you'll be famous very quickly simply by playing.

IgnorantSage

Round 3

Would you rather Be Able to calculate 20 moves into a position with ease OR Have extraordinary intuition Where You can sometimes make a move without thinking and it will make no sense at that time but later on in the game it plays to a Huge advantage.

poodle_noodle

Calculating 20 moves easily i.e. consistently would be worth more than "sometimes" making a good move you don't understand.

poodle_noodle

I think more interesting are questions like

would you rather your hard work always pay off, but you always improve slowly (effectively limiting how high you can go)
or you gain skill quickly and easily but you never feel like it was earned

another one

would you rather be the best player in the world, but if ever someone suspects your true skill you instantly lose it

or you consistently under preform in competition, but you're a famous and well liked pro or semi-pro player.

IgnorantSage

Well Poodle Noodle Senpai.

To answer your first question i would prefer to gain a new skill quick because i have no pride.

Question 2

I would rather be the best and because people know im best i don't think i will get many doubters.

IgnorantSage

Interesting Choice. I think this question's answer depends on the person.

But personally i prefer to be able to calculate but Intuition is harder to develop than calculating ability so i think the best answer would be to Get the intuition naturally but train your calculating skills on your own.

annxe2010

would you rather loose two bishops, two knights and all the pawns or a queen and two castles?

DukeOfHelsinki

Would you rather lose 3 in a row or stalemate in a winning position

annxe2010

Stalemate in a winning position
