Chess.com's rating system is not accurate at all. It seems to be very random, inconsistent, and poorly designed. The numbers do not reflect a players skill level. Do not rate your level of play on this site. There is no legitimacy here. I have never understood how they have even kept players coming back, but it is mostly bots and engine users playing here so it all adds up. ANY of the other online sites are way better and have some real rating systems .

The site uses the Glicko rating system. It's accurate within pools though individual pool participants may be inaccurate within that pool for various reasons, that have nothing to do with the rating system.
