Chess.com rating vs. FIDE rating
There's no clear rule-of-thumb formula. A FIDE or USCF rating is built via over-the-board play, and there's just no telling how you personally would handle the different dynamics of that.
Also, time controls figure into it. I've never played a single game under tournament time controls, and at present I take a loong time on my turn-based games here. If you, on the other hand, are impatient with online turn-based and have a healthy blitz rating over on Live Chess, you'd probably do better at over-the-board than I would.
In truth, there's only one way to find out: Go enter a tournament, and see what happens.
There's no direct comparison--corespondence and OTB chess are different games, and a few surveys done here have borne that out.
Based on your play in your last six completed game, I don't believe you would qualify for a FIDE rating yet. They only begin giving those out at 1600, and at that level players rarely miss one-motif tactics even at OTB time controls. Save your money for now and go study up on those tactics... then enter a FIDE-rated tournament. :)
But for example, some players here:
Yelena Dembo - chess.com rating: 2473 - FIDE rating: 2464
Rusudan Goletiani - chess.com rating: 2366 - FIDE rating: 2383
Zug - chess.com rating: 2333 - FIDE rating: 2207
Reb - chess.com rating: 2248 - FIDE rating: 2240
These values seem very comparable, don't they?
A few people have similar ratings, but most do not. If you want a large list of chess.com vs fide vs uscf ratings message billwall. It's also posted in the forums somewhere, but would take some searching to locate.
I just cracked 1500 at chess.com
My USCF rating is 1065. The USCF players really bring their A game and just about everyone studies chess. At chess.com there are a lot of beginners and people that just show up, play a few moves and never show up again. Also, at chess.com you have 3 days to find the best move. USCF you have a few minutes (if you manage your time well. ) USCF and FIDE are close in their rating. Use this site to learn and improve your game, then enter a FIDE or USCF tourney to get a real rating.
Hey,
I would like to know if the player ratings here are about the same as the official FIDE ratings?
For example, if I am about 1400 on this website, where would I be on the FIDE scale?
Greetings
