I have been a member of this site for a few months. I noticed some members have titles beside their user names. Are the requirements in earning a chess.com title the same as FIDE and the USAF? If I want an IM title on chess.com, do they have special tourneys for it where you can play against other IM's and earn one?

I have a related question.

I've been playing chess for a while, but I'm only Airman First Class. I want to know if I get a coach if I can make it to Master Sergeant in 2 years.

Sorry, you have to do it the old fashioned way in USCF or FIDE tournaments. Here's a link:

Of course if you're just dying to get a title, FIDE now has a new class of amateur titles available over at Arena. Pretty much if you know how the pieces move, you should be good to go.
