Chessmster has good tutoriols and the like, but Fritz is a more blanced engine in my opinion.

DeadMansChess

Don't know for sure how it's programmed, but my nemesis was Lisa.  Whooped everyone else on easy, and Lisa wasn't supposed to be the toughest of the easy AIs.  Maybe the AIs playing styles really do exploit our weaknesses.  I know they said something about the playing style of the AI you face.  See what Ben's playing style is and try to exploit his weakness.  That may allow you to beat him easily.

I've been playing both engines, fritz and chessmaster, both are very balanced; but in the fritz is like playing the same opponent who is increasing is potential every time that the ELO rating increase as well, in the other hand the chessmaster is like went into a chess club and play against a lot o player with so many ELOs and playing styles, I agree with DeadMansChess, play against any of the AIs and try to find their weakness. But if you follow the chess rules, developing your pieces, good pawn structure, exchange pieces when you're up in material, castle early, etc., etc., is for shure that you gonna winn any of the AIs. I started loosing with AIs of 1100 ELO and now, after a lot of understanding of the game, I can beat 1600's but other 1600's beat me so easy, the matter is improving, and learn of every game you play.

BTW. I only played those games in PC, but some people say that is the same engine for DS than for PC.

Each AI has a bio which describes their strengths and weaknesses.  It may describe your weakness as well.  Wink
