Chessmaster GM Edition Error

I get an "error while trying to initialize the game". I have installed it on a new Surface 4 Pro with Windows 10.  What can I do to resolve this?

Did you install the program as Administrator? If that doesn't work, here is some advice from the Ubisoft forums:

Q: I'm having problems installing Chessmaster Grandmaster Edition.
A: Try the following:Close all open programs before installing.Disable any anti-virus/firewall software that is running.If you have Windows Vista/Windows 7/Windows 8, make sure that you install as the Administrator.When installing, make sure you select to install DirectX.

Chessmaster GM Edition Error

During the installation of Chessmaster Grandmaster Edition on a Microsoft Surface 4 Pro with Windows 10, I selected the option to also install Direct X. When I go running the game by pressing the "Play" button, I get an error that just says "error while trying to initialize the game".
