Clock tampering in Bullet Chess...

I play 1 minute bullet chess and there are players who can tamper with the clock whenever they want easily. What is happening is explained below:

1. You make your move, and wait for your opponent to make a move.
2. The opponent's connection icon suddenly starts blinking. The connection icon continues to blink until the opponent makes the move. You are still waiting for your turn.
3. When it is your turn to make the move, your clock is decreased exactly by how-much-seconds-you-waited-at-step-2. 

Yes, this is happening. You wait for your opponent to make a move while his connection icon flashes, and the time you waited gets subtracted from your clock.

Can anybody explain what flashing connection icon means and what is happening to the clock in this case.

Playing bullet chess is frustrating here at chess.com. There are players who are using High Lag+Premoves to cheat, but this clock tampering makes winning at bullet chess impossible.

I have experienced this too but have not bothered much about it.

it must be your internet playing up, and your computer thinking the opposite

BTW pre-movings isn't cheating, it still takes 0.1 of a second and is very risky

What is the "blinking connection icon" anyway. Can sombody explain from the staff.

Connection icon shows the quality of the current connection (hig lag, moderate lag, low lag, or good connection). What does it mean when it starts blinking? And why the time the opponents connection blinked is subtracted from my clock while I waited for him to move.

to nonbelievers : play 1 minute bullet games here at chess.com with opponents rated 1700 or over, than see what is happening yourself before adding useless comments.

I think the staff have said that if you can prove this is happening then you get a free diamond membership. I would set up a screen recorder while playing these games.
