Do you like closed games or open? In this particular game we both decided to play closed and after we completely locked ourselves in our own territory we agreed on a draw. What do you like and was there anything any of us could do to win?

I think most people don't have a specific preference. It's about position.

I played a game similar to yours a few months ago against a player rated about 400 points higher than I. It seemed we were locked, but he sacrificed a piece to get an opening and proceeded to destroy me.
