Everyone has their different reasons for wanting to block someone, but essentially, it's a last-resort, final move to let someone else know that they do not have the right to be a presence in your online life (and by extension, your real life) and they are having a negative impact on you.

Can you please give a response that takes into account the context?
My interactions with this person consisted of two 1 min games.
I understand the principle of blocking and have done it on various occasions that I judged it appropriate. I am mostly just curious if the blocking is a signal of suspicion that I cheated, or if it's hard to tell.

I've blocked people because I didn't like their profile picture or username. Or for trying to rematch after I've already declined. Or because I found their playing style obnoxious or repetitive (regardless of effectiveness). Or because they were clearly not trying. Or they sent rude messages. Can be all kinds of things. Have never blocked someone that I enjoyed playing regardless of how many times I lost. But that's just me.

I never blocked you...I just didn't accept your friend request. I'm not sure why it shows up as block from your end...
In fact I sent you the following message:
"Hi, I got a friend request from you, who is this?"
I suppose you must have never seen it, because you never responded. And your friend request is still open from my end, I just haven't accepted or declined because I was waiting for your response about who you are lol.

Lol, but from everyone's comments, I guess I can draw the conclusion that I cannot really surmise that my opponent thought I was cheating.
Pity if they blocked me for my username/profile picture, I really can't bring myself to feel at all apologetic about ice cream cake

Same. Thug pics, certain ethnic names (won't go into detail), and players from a certain pariah country I despise (again no detail) - instant block. After a decade I've maxed out the blocks at 500. Have no idea how it decides who to remove from the list when I add a new one.

I decided to block today when a player couldn’t/didn’t check me. He had 4 pieces left and I had 1. I asked for a draw - twice. His response was to tell me to resign. My decision is now made. I won’t play him again. It’s simply not enjoyable to play jerks.
I just discovered I was blocked by a 2000 rated bullet player whom I had zero chat/message interactions with. We played two games today, and our first match I was losing before my opponent hung a mate in 1, then losing again, then my opponent equalized but I mouseslipped a hung rook. I felt like I had a chance of winning them so I challenged this person to a rematch and and won. Afterwards I saw that someone else generated a game report for our second game, my opponent I suppose, and I had 86 accuracy as opposed to my opponent's 77.
Of course I can't read my opponent's mind, but I'm curious if there's some most likely reason that this happened. My opponent thinks I was cheating? Or just doesn't want to play me anymore? lol.
