Thanks for that. I’ll look out for the icon.
I’m always using the website on an iPad. But l don’t understand why the the format should change so that in one game there is a resign tab and not in another. I’m playing the same challenge cup every time.
Twice today l’ve lost because the power has been cut. On both occasions l think l was winning but lost when the clock ran down. This has happened several times before and I’m in a supposedly advanced country. Is there some way you could devise that distinguishes between an abandoned game and a genuine power cut? It’s really annoying to lose a game you have sweated over because of a power cut.
best regards. Frank

There's no way to determine accidental disconnect or any other kind of disconnect.
I lost power for over 2 weeks in the USA, stuff happens (tornado happened, specifically). I lost a great many 'daily' (days per turn) games and my rating along with it, stuff happens. You can get the runs @ a big tournament and lose on time in person too, crap happens. Ive won my share from timeouts, and I feel bad for the opponent, but that is the rule and the only real response in a world where people really would unplug their computer rather than lose.
There is no technical way for a web site to tell the difference between having your power cut and pulling the plug out of the back of the machine or the like. It would be nice, but its not possible.
On several occasions l’ve wanted to resign my game but the the resignation tab has not been on the page. The only way l’ve found so far is to abandon the game which l don’t like doing as it’s so disrespectful to my opponent. Sometimes there is no problem as the resign tab is easily found. Am l missing something?
