Yeah, cheating topics are a no-no in the regular forums. You're only supposed to discuss cheating in the "Cheating Forum", which you have to join separately.
This thread will probably get deleted or locked fairly soon.

There's a separate cheating forum? LOL. The first thing that comes to mind here is that I wouldn't expect that strong of a correlation between skill and games played. Perhaps people have spent time learning. I've played a total of 1 game on here in the 2 months I've been here for instance, I'm not even sure why I played it, I guess I wanted to just get some action in but that will hold me for a while
I don't doubt that some people use chess engines to choose their moves, if there is any cheating going on here it's people cheating themselves, and anyone who has a need to do that surely is assisting the forum by providing more competition then relying on their own skills which they themselves have deemed unworthy of sharing.
If someone uses an engine and can only manage 1900-2100 they really aren't that bright I'd say
Personally I couldn't care less where an opponent gets their moves from, and I'm not sure why anyone would.
I guess it's a no no to discuss this here so I'll give myself a little slap on the wrist now

I guess the idea is to keep all of the worms in one can and don't open it.
Yes. If you want to have this discussion, take it over to the Cheating Forum.

Maybe it is a no-no as a topic, but am I really unlucky with the number of assisted players that I am matched against or is it actually rife in the 1900-2100 rating range?
Is there a setting that I am missing, or is it maybe that there is a setting that would only become obvious if I were a paying member?
Even though I have played hundreds of games here, I have noticed that the number of games that my opponents have played, which shows up when we are first matched, is always modest - so that got me thinking that maybe it is these guys that are playing assisted? What is the trick to playing capable members that have played hundreds of games and so presumably more likely to be playing unassisted?
