Computer Chess

I don't know which forum to post this question, so I chose this one as closest to my question. 

I want to play Chess on my computer as I do on my Chess Board.  No engines, no computer's making oposition moves.  Just me playing both sides.  Indeed most You Tube videos use such software. 

What software do they use and where can I find it?

Most chess GUIs have that ability. If you want a specific one you might link to a video that has an interface you particularly like.

To do what you're describing couldn't you even just open up the analyse board feature here from a chess.com game? What am I missing?

Yeah, many chess GUIs allow it. Here's a bare-bones Arena setup. All you have to do is click on the Edit button to move for both sides.
