computer didn't register draw

Sort:

I just finished playing a game and I repeated the exact same move 4 times in a row and the computer didn't make it a draw. I even clicked the draw button. How come this doesn't work? Are we allowed to just repeat endlessly with no draw?

It isn't a repeated move (by one player) that forces a draw, but rather a repeated board position. In other words, your opponent has to cooperate with you. In your game, the opponent moved a pawn each time you repeated your move, so the board position couldn't possibly be the same as it was before (since pawns only move forwards)

Not the moves, but the POSITION have to be the same for 3 times, with the same player to move, with the same moving possibilities.

3 times in a whole game or 3 times consecutively?

BabyRhinoRainbow

it doesn't have to be consecutively.
