I'd caution against using conditional moves for the "See, I know what you're thinking" type of oneupmanship. This is because, sooner or later, you'll get stung by it when you miss seeing a good line of play for your opponent--or, even worse, when you include an outright blunder among your conditional moves. Egg on face? Whew! Best to resist the temptation and use conditional moves only for actual forced moves or, at least, seemingly mandatory recaptures.

I agree with nimbleswitch, if you start using it too much ... you are not really using it for what it is for, and it is bound to get you into trouble.
