Actually game 12 was the weakest of all games. And I don't think Anand received bad treatment.

The rumor is out there, that if he won this championship...he would seriously consider retiring while he was on top.

I was really pulling for Anand. Great last game. Went over it with my chess class and they were mesmerized knowing that the World Championship was on the line. Congradulations Anand!

This is the first time I followed a championship game live. Good stuff. He got it done, decisively, playing with the black pieces, on the last day of a tied tournament when the tension must have been unbelievable. That's some hot chess. Like some kind of movie you'd see on cable TV.
Now let's fast forward to the Carlsen matchup!

While Anand being Indian makes Indians proud, it his exemplary behaviour that has earned him fans across the world. Let us applaud him for being worthy ambassador of the sport itself
This is one of the fantastic match I have ever seen. The sofia rule should be adopted to other tournaments also.
OK, as good a time as any to ask: how soon will all these "equally strong" players have to start knocking each other out, how are they "anointed", how many will there be, or is this all tbd by FIDE?
We already know some of the players who will be competing to challenge Anand in 2012: Topalov (the runner-up), Gelfand (World Cup winner), Carlsen (highest rated) and Kramnik (2nd highest). I'd have to look it up.
