Ct art 4.0

Will be interesting to hear how you do. That's quite a lot of tactics!
I don't have CT-Art so I don't know how hard the different levels are, I'm guessing they get pretty hard though and you won't keep that 100% forever right?

I assume you're talking about the National Open?
What openings do you play?
I used to live in Phoenix. Played Thursday nights at the Tempe Chess Club for years...

I am planning on spending 14 hours a day for the next 2 weeks. I got 500 hot pockets and 80 gallons of Mtn dew. :D

I am a die hard E4 player. I play the kings gambit/danish against e5. Against c5 i do the SMG or the rosolemo attack.as black i play the KID/alekhine.

Well you definitely have some tactical openings to use, so no worries there.
What variation do you generally face in the KID? Here in the Midwest it's almost always the classical. I've been looking at some sharp lines in the exchange variation of the classical lately. Particularly I like
Granted it's not every day that you'll face the exchange or that you'll get the 9. Nd5, but this is the kind of stuff I'd work on if I were you. Sharp stuff that you've looked at.
Also, look at a handful of GM games in the Panov-Botvinnik line of the Caro Kann as that will give you good room for tactics if you face a Caro...

Thanks

What kinds of openings do you HATE to face against 1. e4?
Book up against those.
For me it was the Caro-Kann. I hated the damn thing. So I learned some lines in the Panov Botvinnik and played through a bunch of GM games. Now I don't mind facing it at all since I feel more comfortable from having watched the plans that top level players are implementing.

If they play the Caro-Kann i will reach across the table and hit them in face. That opening is worse than the french!

Just did level 40. I never knew you could give up a queen so many different ways...
My Ct Art elo dropped from 2245 to 2215 due to the fact i missed a couple of 10 move queen sac combinations. lol

I like the van der Wiel attack against the Caro-Kann. 1. e4 c6 2. d4 d5 3. e5 Bf5 4. Nc3 e6 5. g4!? and then you fling your kingside pawns at them, get a huge space advantage, and pile the pressure on. If they play the 3 ... c5!? variation, just take the pawn and try to hold on to it for as long as possible. Or play 4. c3 d6 and be happy to have a French Advance with an extra tempo.
hmmmm.... intriguing.
Right now i am training for a chess tournament coming up in las vegas. I am planning on doing all of Ct art 4.0 in 2 weeks. so far i went threw the first 3 levels (in 4 hours) with 100% . My otb rating is 1946. I'll keep you guys up to date
my ct art elo is 2215

Here is one of my games from way back ( i was black)
