That sounds more like normal fluctuations than inconsistency.
Cure for inconsitency?

This is probably a problem for a lot of people, but I somehow managed to drop my rating 50 points in a day, climb back another 50 in two days, and then drop back down again (and repeat this over the course of a couple weeks). Is there any way I can solve my little inconsitency problem?
I do the same things. Although it doesn't show it in the stats because they were unrated games, yesterday I beat a 1800 rated player and a few rated a few hundred higher than me and today I won 2 of 3 against someone who has a 2000+ online chess rating.
But, of course, if I get lazy or careless, or just "don't care", I'll play some games just to relax without focusing or concentrating on the results to unwind and lose to some 1200s.
So, for me, anyway, I think it's more about mindset...the state of mind you have before you play.

There are many reasons for inconsistencies, but the general rule is to stay calm and focused, measure three time before cutting once, and always look out for hanging pieces. Don't know if anyone else has this "problem", but I have noticed that I visualise better on a real chess set, than on the computer...so I have my chess set next to my computer now. How did I figure this out? I would look at the problem for a long time on the screen, and see nothing...but as soon as I look at it on my set, I see better options. Must have something to do with 2d/3d.

Weird, why is your highest win 1688 (bullet) if you beat 2000+?
Because they were unrated games and the unrated games don't show up in the stats. Didn't you read that part of the post? That's why I put it in there because I knew unless I did, someone would ask what you did.
I don't really care about ratings though, but it would be nice to see the higher ones recorded regardless if they were unrated or not.

Have you analyzed your games and tried to statistically break down the kinds of mistakes you are making during each session? There's a whole lot more truth there than any generalizations people can give you in these forums based on the data you provided so far.

Don't know mate, looked in your games-history and the only 2000+ game I can find is from yesterday. http://www.chess.com/livechess/game?id=442484933
You did draw a 1800 though.
The reason I started looking is because I don't think a 1300-1400 would ever win from 2000+. But feel free to post the link to the game, because I am very interested in what somebody from our level needs to do to win from a 2000+.

I agree this is more of a problem of just getting better

Also beat a 1800 yesterday too. I don't like to post members' names because it could embarrass them. But yeah, like I had said in the original post, I beat someone with an online rating over 2000 2 out of 3 and also beat an 1800 but it was unrated. And again, the unrated games do *not* show up in the best games.
I'll shoot you a link though privately so you can see what it takes to beat someone over 2000 from your level.
I don't consider myself any particular level because like the topic of the thread, I don't always play my best or maintain a consistent attitude to take the online games seriously enough to determine playing strength if that makes sense.
In other words, I can "gear up" psychologically when playing a higher rated opponent and win or on the other hand can be lazy and careless and lose to someone rated much lower if that makes sense.
I'm sending you the links but do me this one favor as the condition and keep 'em private because while I can appreciate you want to see the games, I also don't want to embarrass my opponents, okay?
Edit: Sent you the links to a couple of recent wins over chess players with online chess rating of 1800+ and 2100+
