Daily chess win on time awards no rating points?

Is there a certain number of moves or something the need to be made? I’ve had several games won on time in daily chess, but they don’t see to award rating points. Is this by design? Why would timeouts be rewarded like this? If you’re in a losing position and then just don’t make a move and timeout to preserve your rating?

Yes, at least 4 moves by each side.

In daily it's probably not likely many people get into losing positions that quickly.

Though, you have only had a couple of Daily games like that. The most recent win on time was an unrated game.

Ahh. I only play on mobile, so it’s not obvious which games in my history are unrated. I generally only accept rated challenges, for this very reason, so I must have misclicked or not been paying attention on that one. Thanks, it was the one I was thinking of.

I know this is old but I just had a 11 move game time out and gained zero points. Is it because no pieces were taken on either side?

No, it's because it was an unrated game.

I just won a game on time, I did not gain any rating. Only 3 moves were made.
