Must say I'm disappointed nobody supports this, and this suggestion will be lost in the mists of time. :(

Just a thought:
I presume it is feasible to turn the daily puzzle into a competition?
When a person loads the puzzle, a timer starts. wrong moves are counted, and the timer stops when the puzzle is solved.
Results then show all solvers with 0 errors (sorted by time), then those with 1 error, etc...
Any chance of this ever happening? Seems all the functionality required is used elsewhere on this site.
As a handy side-effect, it would stop the incessant 'first!' posts too, if you only enabled comments once the puzzle had been solved!
