I sympathize with you, but we all deal with time zones, updates, and switch-overs for wherever we are in the world. It seems that if you login and play the same time every day, then you should always meet the deadline... as long as you do it withing the same 24-hours.
Daily Puzzle Streak - timezones

Pretty sure the Daily Puzzle streak has a grace period so even if you miss a day, it should still count. It doesn't publish in 12 an US Pacific time, most of the time.
