DGT Board

Hi all,

I am 34 and awhile back I was thinking of joining a chess club here in Mesa, AZ. However, after researching on here and looking at photos of events online, I found that most clubs and tournaments are mostly kids. I simply would not be interested in hanging out with 10 year olds for hours on my weekends.

Instead, I want to play longer games online to improve, but not stare at a screen. What do you think of DGT boards?

Why not just play your game on a physical board, using your phone/tablet/pc/other just to transmit and receive the moves? I do that for longer time-control games and find it works well. I used to use a Novag board (similar idea to DGT) online, but honestly, just using any physical board is pretty much as good. And much less expensive...
