when he was accussed of being a bankrobber in 81 he told the officer. "I told them I didn't drive."
he was born in 43. making him 38.
So I doubt he was driving at all.

You don't get a license without passing a behind-the-wheel exam. He knew how to drive. How much he drove, I can't say.
I grew up in Brooklyn and was born the same year as B.F., but I can't recall seeing him in a car, driving. But...per the famous Pasadena "torture" (yeah, right) jail matter:
From: http://www.wikinfo.org/index.php/Bobby_Fischer
1975-1991
In 1982, Fischer published the pamphlet, "I Was Tortured in the Pasadena Jailhouse!", detailing his experiences following his arrest in 1981 after being mistaken for a wanted bank robber. Fischer alleged that the police treated him brutally. He was eventually charged with damaging prison property (a mattress). The 14-page pamphlet ends with the signature: "Robert D. James (professionally known as Robert J. Fischer or Bobby Fischer, The World Chess Champion)."
By this time Fischer had a Nevada driver's license and Social Security card with that name, the same one that appeared in the 1981 Pasadena police report.

Did you see him not in a car, not driving?

Or not in a car, driving?
Perhaps he was also a golfer.

Do you have trouble controlling your steering wheel with paws?

As I said, I don't recall seeing him driving. Doesn't mean he didn't.

Cars can be specially fitted for the differently enabled thank you.
I personally don't know of ANYBODY who doesn't drive (apart from people who genuinely have significant physical or mental impairments).
i.e. New Yorkers.
When I moved to Europe I was amazed by the number of people who don't drive and don't know how to.

As always, Reb makes no distinction and seems to think that Europe is one country with one culture, which is hardly the case.
In Sweden, it's not uncommon to not drive, if you live in one of the 3 major cities, everyone else usually get's their driving license asap.
Kind of random question I know, but i've never read or heard of him driving, not in books, magazines, interviews, video footage, etc. Everytime ive read or seen video footage of him going somewhere it was with one or more people. I wasn't sure if this was just a coincidence or not. Wonder if he even had his driver's license.
To further support my theory, he was a big fan of walking long distances
