did chess.com change format on ios app?

just noticed in my games yesterday that squares from the previous move are highlighted; i am not sure if this is even what is happening but what i am sure of is how “off” this is

is there a way to change this; it is really messing up when i play it do puzzles now

Check the “Highlight Last Move” switch in the general settings.
