He told me himself after the tournament via Email--we're old schoolmates. I trust that he did the math himself, since he told me that he only needed a draw in the last round. Could be wrong though! I'll check with him again.
For an IM norm, the lowest rated opponent is raised to 2050 (for a GM norm, the lowest opponent is raised to 2200). Thus, opponent 1 (Gisli) counts as 2050, not as 1877.
That's why Teddy's norm is good. Congratulations, Teddy!

I wonder if there is a FIDE title to measure the skill of people who can determine norms?
1.46c For the purposes of norms, the minimum rating (adjusted rating floor) for the opponents shall be as follows:
Grandmaster 2200
International Master 2050
Woman Grandmaster 2000
Woman International Master 1850
1.46c1 No more than one opponent shall have his rating raised to this adjusted rating floor. Where more than one opponent are below the floor, the rating of the lowest opponents shall be raised.
Opp Average = 2383
Perf ratio = 5.5/9 = .61
Perf change = 80 http://www.fide.com/fide/handbook.html?id=58&view=article
TPR = 2383 + 80 = 2463 more than the required 2450 for an IM norm.
Well, I participated in the very first Internet FIDE Arbiter seminar, held in the summer of 2010. I also passed the 3.5 hour exam to get the required FA seminar norm, that tested us on all manner of things...the test was very hard, and when I submitted it I wasn't sure I would pass! 17 participated but I think only 9 passed the test.
I don't know what happened to my three other FA norms as Deputy Arbiter though. I should have FA title.
I did get my FIDE National Instructor (NI) title as a trainer though. That was nice!
did FM teddy coleman get his IM norm in iceland reakavik and and how many norms does he have now...
