Did Kasparov and Fischer meet in secret and play with eachother?

I remember reading somewhere that Fischer met with Anand back in the early 90's at a European cafe and praised him for standing up to the Russian chess system. I cannot confirm the details or even if it's true but it sounds plausible.

I read an article about that as well. Also Fischer and Karpov met in the 70's to try and make plans for a match.

Yes! Fischer met with Nigel Short to discuss a possible warm-up minimatch before taking on Spaasky in '92. When Nigel proclaimed his eternal love for Fischer s sister Joan, Fischer shunned him forever and cursed his chess career, therefore his performance in 1993.

In village we have local voodoo magic practitioner. Cures and curses. Very nice.

No. But Jinky Fischer and Polina Kasparov hang out at the mall.

Are you questioning their sexual orientation?

And what would be wrong if they did diddle each other? This is 1972, after all.

@aerodarts,

After Nigel got his english muffins spanked by Kasparov in '93, he went to meet with Joan to proclaim his eternal love for her and attempt to impregnate her to create a champion that would avenge his father. Of course all this occurred behind Bobby's back, and so Bobby hired a voodoo magic practitioner from the village of stxschlsv, therefore the bloodbath in the recent Battle of the Legends vs Kasparov.

 Play with each other?

Bobby Fischer played with his sister, so if she entered competition, she'd be greater than Judy polgar.

does anyone in this thread have a life? i mean a real life, not a chess fantasy life.....just asking...

Kasparov said during the live commentary in Leuven that he never played Fischer

Considering how much Bobby hated the Russians and that Kasparov wasn't world champ until a decade after Fischer stopped playing, it's not likely Bobby played Kasparov "in secret."  Bobby wasn't rich and a match with Kasparov would have brought money to both men.

Kasparov is an armenian from Azerbaijdjan, by his time he hated the russian communist regime and was paranoid against it (for normal reasons of course)

Garry is half Armenian half Jew.

Fischer's mother Regina, was Russian and a Jew.

And yes, Kasparov had harsh views about Soviet regime, so much that he refused to play under Soviet flag in some matches with Karpov.

Exactly , his chess-career was also a partly political fight, when his aim was to defeat Russia in the tournaments and Karpov was "asked" to defeat the Kasparov "threat"....

His whole life he suffered from Russia, how could he possibly like that country, it's not possible, so that's why I think that Bobby Fischer and Garry Kasparov could have become friends.

I have found an extremely rare PGN of one of their games. Don't ask me how.

i play overtheboard with my buddies all the time , does my raing change win or looze.??Wink

Pashak1989

No. Why would they do that?

Both had such an inflated ego, and even if it was only a friendly game they would take it very seriously and would get very mad if they lost.

They prefered to not take that risk and keep believing that they are the greatest chess players in history.
