Didn't Notice Mate

One of the rare times I played a move and didn't realize it's mate until after the game ended.

Almost no duplication of effort (f4 is controlled twice).

I play anonymously.

Maybe someday I'll do rated games again.

Lol, same. I once did a pawn checkmate by accident.

I’m sorry, llama: It happens to me frequently, and it is very exhilarating!  Well, maybe not, now I’m jealous. I now look forward to the day when I can look back and think to myself exactly what you were thinking when you chose to make this thread.

How generous.  Your opponent moved the only piece which allowed mate in one.happy.png

40 seconds vs 13. I would have won no matter what they played.

unless they never put the knight there and were @penguingm1

Or unless a meteor fell out of the sky and hit me.

I do that more frequently over the board. Sometimes, I'm the one doing the mating.

But anyway.... now I believe that if you do right moves... early or latter... they will result in something good.

It's  my Chess credo now.

one time I swindled someone by setting up a trap. they did a natural move, and captured with the wrong piece, then I had a knight, bishop and rook checkmate

I’ve lost count of the surprising checkmates. In 3 0, it happens more than I care to admit.
