Digital Chess Review: Excellent Article

It's now working!!! The coolest thing ever.
Heck of a link. Wish I were smart enough to figure out what's going on.

It's kind of sad. My liquid cooled Haswell i7 and Stockfish DD 64 make historical greats such as Lasker, Capablanca, Botvinnik, Smyslov, Petrosian, and even Karpov look like complete patzers. There's just something crass about that.

Cool! Thanks for the link. Funny, I'm so old that I was even more fascinated with the first chess playing computers. Not because I could beat them, but instead because of the brand new novelty of machines displaying "artificial intelligence" (and also the steam-punk looking hardware back then).

Haha I know it! Super cool though. Basically, they just match engine against engine and then the top 5 (?) move on to the net stage.

Dan Heisman is allways interested in that. The 1st link is from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Your right, excellent article. Thanks.

I didn't know that. I assume he's from MIT? You're welcome. I just think comptuer chess is the coolest thing. Stockfish is playing right now, it might have a win, it's a close game: http://tcec.chessdom.com/live.php
Hey all!
Ever since I stumbled into the world of chess engines, I've been fasinated by the top engines and their ability to duke it out at a level far above us humans!
Here is an excellently written article about Chess engines taking the game to new hights. I hope you enjoy it. It's a great read.
