Ding Liren or Wei Yi

China's strength in chess is one to be reckoned with, almost on par with Russia ( based on rating). Should be about time a Chinese player plays and wins in a Candidates Tournament and challenges the reigning Champ, whether it be Carlsen or someone else. But who will it be? The two most promising players  from China are GMs Ding Liren and Wei Yi. Wonder who is better? Im a huge fan of Ding, but Wei Yi's play has made me wonder whether the teenager has actually surpassed DIng.

Sample game

A full bloody battle between both players.

Ding's innovative style, endgame prowess:

I don't have enough guts to castle queenside in a queen's Indian defense as White.....

Wei Yi's Tactical Tal-like magic:
The sparks just appear out of thin air.

Incredible games, thanks.
If you force me to pick one I'll go with Wei Yi.

I prefer Ding Liren.Wei is too aggressive.

Ding Liren's play is indeed more suited for the world's elite. Wei Yi is indeed a very aggresive player, and some may argue is just full of tricks.... but then again, that was what was said of Tal..

Liren played more stable compared to WeiYi, in fact WeiYi's playing is famous for his tactics and agressiveness(he's young, can be understand).

For the sake of the future of chess, I will pick WeiYi. He will bring us surprises, matter of time.

Wei Yi has played the most brilliant chess this century, bar none. He's already played some of the best chess games that have ever been played.

Wei Yi has a great attacking style. It will be interesting to see if he tones it down as he gets older because I'm not sure if it is possible to play like that and consistently beat the elite.
