Disabling chat was the best thing I did

The title of the post says it all. I feel like the imaturity of many players was killing the joy of playing for me. I can usually brush off sore losers, but sore winners are the worst. You won after I tried Englund Gambit on you and you fell for the first few moves! Great! I get it, I'm not that great. You don't have to spam my chat on how I'm a fck*ng loser for even playing the gambit. It also stops me from being a sore loser myself, which usually happens when someone flags me when I have a completely winning position. Ofc it's my fault that I was not able to convert, but too many times I expressed my mild disdain. Now it's just silence, one way and the other. It's a win win situation.

I played a cheater yesterday and put eight toungue emojis in the chat. The only reason I don't disable chat is because I'm too lazy to do it, and when I play with my friends I want the chat to be on.

I usually just play random people, so the issue with chatting with friends is not that relevant. Some are nice enough to say good game, but that's a blessed minority, so I prefer to just play in complete "silence".

You can make it so you can chat with friends but not randoms. There is an option in the settings.
