Dishonorable to flag in bullet?

So this time the OP is the "dishonorable" flagger.

I was playing this bullet game. Sure, hung my bishop, missed a smothered mate and another forced win, but whatever, it's bullet right? So we entered an endgame that is completely drawn with K + P v K, and I just pre-moved my way to time victory, careful to move the pawn up very slowly every 20 moves or so to prevent a 50-move draw.

Personally, I play bullet for the adrenaline and the thrill of speed calculating, doing intuitive unsound sacrifices, and sneaking in scummy wins. It's a great game to play on the metro too. If I wanted to play objectively good chess, I would be playing different time controls.

But some people say that all chess is chess, no matter the time controls.

Do you think this is against the spirit of chess? Or is "time" just another tactical resource to exploit to achieve a win, especially in bullet?

Probably not anymore dishonorable than being 5 pieces down, and claiming a "win" with .1 seconds on the clock.

You thought for almost 5 seconds and missed 17.Nf7?

Impressive speed though. Of course winning this way is ok in 1 minute games. That's what bullet is all about.

Thanks! It was even harder pre-moving in endgames on mobile because unlike on a computer, u can’t make consecutive pre-moves. Wish they add that function to mobile.
Preggo_Basashi

Actually it looks easier. Usually a string of consecutive 0.1 premoves (by both players) isn't possible if there's basically no lag.
