Do bots have different playstyles?

Hello, I have a question about bots: Chess.com has a multitude of bots with different ratings. Do they only differ in their scaled difficulty, or do they actually have different characteristics, like one plays more aggressively, the other one prefers a certain opening, and so forth? Cheers

Yes they do. For example, Pierre moves his f pawn as his first move. And, Nelson uses his queen a lot more than what would normally be advisable.

Yes, bots have different opening books and personalities (settings that determine various changes in how the algorithm operates), in addition to their ratings

They all use different personalities (Active, Positional, Aggressive, Default, Endgame) and skill levels (up to 25) of Komodo 14, so yes, they do have different personalities. They also use different opening books. The only ones with special personalities IIRC, are Hikaru and Danny Rensch.

What is IIRC?
