The myth of the gentle woman is a myth probably brought to us by religions. It has nothing to do with reality. Like most (all?) attributes these have nothing to do with gender.

My favorite Books are the Castaneda Books. Female Warriors are drawn quite interesting in those books. According to Castaneda women are quite wild, especially during menstruation.

I also have read thoughts like this on other authors, eg. Pessoa.

They started the blues music movement and modern popular music is an offshoot of that.  But getting back to testosterone, a female plays chess with what is between her ears male chess players have the advantage of playing chess with their brains and all their other chemistry, it's said men have larger brains than women, the difference is that men only use a small part of their brains whereas women use all of theirs lol :)

Well...if testosterone makes one aggressive in chess, then in many cases it is a liability if you don't rein it in. I'm a prime example of losing due to overaggression.

You should focus on playing better and learning more, and less about inherant advantages or disadvantages associated with gender.

In 100 years, the studies conducted about men and women and their cognisant abilities may be refuted or greatly downplayed. Regardless, to describe genders through overall generalities is suspect. Most people do not play chess competitively or even semi-competitively. The human brain varies greatly between individuals.

Chess is a game and men love games. We are fiercly competitive in games that have little to no impact on anything. Rarely, do I see a women in any kind of board game care at all about winning or losing. They just want to have fun. Having fun is great and all, but if you want to win you have to move past fun.

There is probably a female mind out in the world right now who is 3000+ rated, but she does not care for chess.

So move beyond gender, if anything, the saying that men are better only applies to competitors at the Grand Master level.

No one here is at that level, but even if someone here at that level, they would probably credit their title to the amount of time and work they put into their chess prowess.

I'm pretty sure I can lift heavier things than this woman, but I seriously doubt my testosterone would help me in the playing hall unless there was furniture to be moved.

 I cannot say one way or the other about how testosterone levels affect aggressiveness in chess play. I do believe abstract thought processes and experience coupled with knowledge of the game are more realistic indicators of how aggressive a person plays.

An aggresive chess player is a function of confidence. 

Now spacial visualization is better in men than women you say, can I ask then, why it is that a guy can open the fridge door and stare into it for 10 minutes saying "Hey honey where did you hide the milk?" ... when it is right in front of them ? 

I used to have a dog named Wally, sweet little guy, he was very good at spacial vizualization, no good at chess though, but he could spot a piece of fallen biscuit a mile away!

Merging estrogen by playing to create interesting positions over trying to win is where my interest lies.
