This is a game I'm playing, an OTB game I didn't get to finish. My opponent (a friend) has offered me a draw, and agreed to continue tomorrow. So should I take the draw? Or keep going?
it depends, and depends on which way your going. assuming black is on the bottom and going upwards, they have advantage, and I think they should be able to win.
Eh it's an OTB friendly game? What's it matter... I would have to say that you guys are waisting your time by playing on, it looks to me like it would be a zugzwang if you both didn't have bishops, but since you do all you have to do is move them back and forth until you guys decide it's drawn.
As black you are going to have to dislodge that bishop from the long diagonal somehow and the only piece you can attack with is the king but once you start moving your king away from the center you risk allowing his pawn through or allowing his king to attack your pawn and bishop. The lone king can't remove the bishop from the diagonal anyway because all he does is move the bishop from one extreme of the diagonal to the other as the king approaches. Your pawns are too spread out to allow you to be able to easily defend them both while preventing white from getting his pawn through at the same time and forcing one of your own pawns through in the immediate future looks unlikely. You're basically looking at the 7-10 split of chess. You should take the draw.
Yeah, I (black) was going up, and I took the draw.
And Tr4mpldUndrfooT, it only matters because when I play him, either he wins or we draw, and I was doing great up to a few moves ago, so I wanted to hold onto the notion of me winnning.
