"Don't be afraid of us!" said I as an MA in Law, although not a divorce one Laughing

I've heard before that relatively lower-rated (not actually low-rated, but the equivalent of top-tier modern female players) tend to play more agressively than do those at the top of the rating charts. Admittedly, I have no data to back that up, but that's no less evidence than most everyone else has presented.

Could the aggression of top female players be a product of their lower total skill levels? Their aggression should be compared to that of male players of similar strength rather than the top males.

Do women on average play agressive chess?

Just a heads up szammie, this isn't an actual question, just a chance for ignorant people to make a fool of themselves.  Both professional men and women players have said that if anything, women tend to be more aggressive over the board.  If you don't agree with that evaluation, then the burden of proof is on you.  Indeed something like looking up games to compare them is something you would have to do before anyone is going to take your uninformed rambling seriously.

...this isn't an actual question, just a chance for ignorant people to make a fool of themselves."; so this explains your ignorant comments! Undecided

"Both professional men and women players have said that if anything, women tend to be more aggressive over the board."; r u a wombmen or a man?; what do u have 2 say?; I am a MAN!; there is no way, 2 confirm, as a rule or statistically, if a wombman is more aggresive on the chess board than a Man; "If you don't agree with that evaluation, then the burden of proof is on you."; why would I agree, with an evaluation that u can't prove?; I don't have 2 prove that I don't agree with u.

"...looking up games to compare them is something you would have to do"; how bout looking up (reviewing) the games, u have lost, 2 wombmen, who r more aggressive than u.

...before anyone is going to take your uninformed rambling seriously.; STFU! Undecided

"You can't prove it so you're wrong!"

This isn't called being clever, it's called being a smart-ass Smile  The point is that the evidence is against you.

Your constant misspelling of "woman" is... almost funny.  It has potential though, I'll probably start laughing if you keep it up.

Are we saying that all women play agressively? This is clearly false (just by a cursory look at some of my female chess friends).

Are we saying that most women play agressively? How did we go about observing this? And how did we define "agressive"?

Are we then saying that some women play agressively? If so, then this statement can also be said about male players.

I would imagine that how a female plays has very little to do with her sex, and more related to her level of development...just as her male counterpart. I know far more male players who play 1. e4, and play agressively, than I know female players who exhibit this "symptom".

...and following on the OPs question...what therefore is the inference of the statement? Are we trying to infer that women are more agreesive than men? In chess only? In sports in general?

...the general thinking is that men are more agressive than women in sports, especially where there is a physical relationship...where the combat in mental...I am not certain that there are any scientific studies and support the arguement one way or the other.

...In chess specifically, there are way more men playing chess than women, and I would suspect...way more agressive male players than maybe the total women chess playing population...in terms of agressive playing styles within the male/female sub-sections...this trend IMHO is very grey and not fully known in order to draw any conclusions...though it is an intriguing research topic.

As far as i know, there is a research claiming that professional male players tend to push the position harder when playing against women, even if the latters are titled players...Probably under circumstances,it works the other way around too!

(And of course there is playing style, which may correlate negatively with the above hypothesis)
