Do you feel like addicted when playing a lot of blitz?

Probably people get used with the time, but I really don't like the feeling I have when playing blitz.

Do you know this, right? If I lose, I want immediately play again, and if I won, I want to play again too to have again this great feeling. My impression is that blitz is similar to video game addiction. I think it is difficult to have control of the time invested playing blitz.

Do you give yourself a limit of how many games you are allowed to play per day? Or you just let it go, stay hours and hours in from of your monitor, forgetting to eat or drink?

I mean, nobody would probably admit openly that he  has an addiction, but from my experience playing several hours blitz per day is very close to it. I am working since 20 years with drug rehab clinic, and I am very aware on how addiction can influence negatively your life.

Or do people react differently to the stress of several hours of blitz games?

My self-observation on my addiction:  I feel like I wasted excessive time, but I still want to play more!

I am confessing to my foolishness.

I can quit anytime I want to.  What I should do is only play blitz in the mornings when I'm "on", my rating would be several hundred points higher.
