"I would say I put in like a few hours into chess puzzles" ++ Puzzles are overrated. In a real game nobody tells you there is a tactic, or for which side. Like 4 puzzles are a good warm-up, but that is about it. Real progress comes from play and analysis of your losses.
"I just wanted to know so you get better or faster at them" ++ It comes with time. Practice makes perfect.
"I am pretty slow and most of the time I get them right" ++ That is OK. Just take care to play games with a time per move larger than your time per puzzle.
"do you get better at chess puzzles the more you do them" ++ Yes
"I do them an hour a day" ++ That is too much. Just solve 4 puzzles and then play a game. If you lose it, then analyse it so as to learn from your mistakes.
